RUNNERS UP -- ONE SHOT serialized in AFTERNOON WEB-X

BOTH WINNERS will have a chance to appear in our PRINT BOOK, SATURDAY WARS AND BOTH may be voted on (against winners/ runners up from August through December 2014) for a 6-MONTH SERIALIZATION and other prizes!

TEST FLIGHT JULY COMPLETED!!

Philippa Borman WINNER! with "ANIMALE" a highly original concept with very difficult attempts in perspective, character design (animals--hard) and story but she pulled each off perfectly to where we could not see how she was not deserving of 1st place. Excellent cover. Story with both humor AND action. Good art and a concise, non-complicated story.

CONGRATS PHILIPPA!

Stay tuned for a future issue of SATURDAY AM for her ONE-SHOT!

Justin Aninacion RUNNER UP! with "GRAY+ZONE" a highly original concept with EXCELLENT line art. Some minor issues with grey scale and reminiscent character designs aside, Gray Zone was a confident and amazingly efficient story. Also, one of the simplest pitches (made a tad difficult with Land of the Dead reference) and one of the most potential for thoroughly original action stories.

We are VERY PROUD to select Justin as our Runner Up and it was VERY CLOSE between he and Philippa. Stay tuned to a future day of AFTERNOON Web-X for the serialization of his manga one-shot.

Thanks to BEVERLY TOOLE, WHYT MANGA and ANDREW STERLING for helping with this month's submissions.

See you next month!
