HAPPY JUNETEENTH FROM US AT SATURDAY AM!

It’s that time of year again, folks! June 19th marks the momentous day in 1865 when approximately 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, the last Confederate state, to enforce the executive decree of the Emancipation Proclamation. This historic event led to the liberation of around 250,000 enslaved Black people in Texas, and the day became known as JUNETEENTH.

We are now entering our third year of recognizing this day as a federal holiday. Across the country, we celebrate Juneteenth in remembrance of the emancipation of enslaved people. Although the journey towards equality was far from over, this day marked a significant step forward.

Saturday AM, the world’s most diverse manga brand, is proud to promote people of color and the diverse stories they have to tell. Today, we come together to celebrate JUNETEENTH and to spread love and appreciation for underrepresented groups. Let’s continue moving toward the future by sharing these amazingly diverse stories.
