NC Comicon is about a month away and Saturday AM will be there covering the event.
We are hoping to interview the guests, showcase cosplay, and inevitability by tons of crap every fanboy “needs”. I’ve been to this con a few years before, but NC Comicon gets better and bigger every year.

NC Comicon was started by Ultimate Comics shop owner Alan Gill in 2010. Artist Tommy Lee Edwards has been involved with the show from the very beginning but became an official partner of the con last year. Being a comic industry juggernaut, Edwards’ involvement has helped the show’s guest list grow to include many star studded names. Held at Durham, NC’s Convention Center, last year, I stood in line for almost 2 hours wrapping around the block to buy a ticket and get in…but was it worth it?
YES!
DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS YES!
It was worth it and is proving to be the perfect modern comicon for smaller markets!
At this year’s Comicon, a slew of artists, writers, and editors will be guests. Some highlights include such TRIPLE A talent as
John Barrowman
Scott Allie
Fiona Staples
Afua Richardson
and many more.
While the massive diversity of Saturday AM will not be on display as we were at Animazement & Heroescon before the NC COMICON guest list is pretty diverse for a convention this size. We hope to meet and interview as many exciting creators as possible but there will not be APPLE BLACK, MMWOG nor BULLY EATER at the show. NC Comicon will not only feature guests, panels, and vendors…but a bunch of cool activities. The convention center is attached to an old school movie theater so a ComiQuest Film Festival is part of the event too! Also, there will be a LEGO exhibit, costume contest, and portfolio reviews.
