SUMMER IS COMING and that means it’s time for a brand new wave of new artists, new comic ideas, and new potential series!
THIS IS #summerofmanga and it can only be done within the World’s MOST Diverse Shonen Manga anthology, Saturday AM! Last year, we discovered some amazing talent from young, new voices like Goeffrey Jean-Louis (Mara the Martian) as well as 63 yr old Cathy Hubbard’s the Watchman!
What will it take to enter??
You must be 17 or older.
You can only pitch (and we will only publish) an ORIGINAL SHORT STORY (has a beginning, middle, and an end).
You must have an Online Portfolio (Tumblr, Deviantart, Instagram) that demonstrates your character design, backgrounds, and sequential work.
You must be able to tell a COMPLETE STORY in as little as 7 pages and as much as 22 pages.
We will review your PITCH concepts by 4.13 (We will do this monthly for April, May, and June) for the first wave on short stories.
All genres are welcome but we WILL take special notice for ROMANCE, THRILLER (i.e. DEATH NOTE), SPORTS and other unique genres such as cooking.
We highly recommend that you take your time and not rush as entries may not be amended and creators who have pitched us once MAY NOT pitch us again.
We will advise what creators and shorts are selected for this APRIL’s SUMMER OF MANGA entries!
They will begin to run in ISSUE 87 (1st week of JUNE) of Saturday AM!
